Jim’s experience from a supersonic F4 Phantom II jet fighter pilot to accomplished careers in government and business, have garnered him the reputation of an exceptional leader who achieves goals the right way. He is a respected leadership coach, speaker, and author who also has significant corporate experience. Jim has held positions as Executive VP and Chief Administrative Officer at Patriot Rail Company, Senior VP at Waste Management, as well as Vice President and Chief Safety Officer at CSX. He specializes in results-based coaching/consulting with a focus on creating positive cultures in safety, employee engagement, customer service, productivity, and team alignment. Jim’s book, Leading People Safely - How to Win on the Business Battlefield, was named top leadership book of 2017 by the Independent Press Award.
He holds an MA in Management from Webster University and a BA in Political Science from Arizona State University. He also completed post-graduate and executive coursework in residence at The Harvard Business School, Northwestern University, and the University of Southern California. Jim lives with his wife in Fredericksburg, Texas.
